Hi,
I have a business case to develop a 'dashboard' and can't decide on the best approach to go with so would love any pointers you can give. The scenario is that I need a 'dashboard' (although it could be an app)....that 10 managers use.
When they open it they need a dashboard-like view, but filtered to their geographical area. On it will be 10 to 20 KPIs which will then allow drill through to the detailed reports. They can then, if they choose, look at other areas for comparison so I don't want RLS or to hide the other geographical areas.
Power BI dashboards obviously look nice, and would easily map to the phone, but I can't see an obvious way to achieve this with a single dashboard. Instead I assume i'll need to go with an App, containing a report made up to look like a dashboard, and get each user to save default filters such that the reports when opened default to their geographical area.
Is this reasonable or am I missing some obvious functionality?
Thank you so much!
Jim
Hi, @jimwalker
Maybe you could use the bookmarks applied to buttons to create the reports you believe each manager would like to see.
It will take some good amount of clicks because you'll have to hide/show each visual and setup all the options for each bookmark you create.
You can find more info in this Guy in a Cube video:

I think you can also use Field Parameters feature to create visuals with dynamic axes.
I believe this tutorial may help you https://youtu.be/1eurc0EY2Xg.
Thank you for that. I've done similar with bookmarks, but never gone as far as using different axis...I really like that as a way to fit more 'stuff' on one page. Thank you for your advice.
