Apply filter to report and publish to Sharepoint

Hi All,

Need an assistance here.

I have a report that has got multiple filters (Date, Department, Sales, etc.)

Now I want to filter the report for few critical Departments for each month, and need these filtered reports to be uploaded to the Sharepoint Site (not manually).

Can someone please provide guidance on how this can be achieved. I've checked few previous forums here, but couldn't get much out of it.

Thanks

Hi @gauravg3 ,

It seems that you can  Embed a report web part in SharePoint Online .But you cannot apply a filter unless it is applied in the original report.

The RLS is created in desktop, which is what you create when you build the model. How to create rls you can refer to this article.

Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

By the way, RLS works well in embed report on sharepoint website.

Hi @gauravg3 , I'm assuming you are uploading a powerbi desktop file? If so, this might be difficult to achieve. You might be able to do something with Power Automate Desktop. Aside from that you would need to upload the file to PBI service and set filters through paramaters and Row Level Security.

Yes, I'm uploading the file to Power BI Service...Can you pls share any example of how its done using parameters and RLS. Thanks
