Application slowdown

Hello, 

 

There is an incredible amount of weight in my Power BI files. When I checked, a page with no background runs at a normal speed, while pages with a jpg format image in the background run very slowly. Can I solve this situation by changing the image format?

    Yes, the image format can affect the performance of your Power BI report. The larger the image size, the more time it takes to load the image, which can slow down the report. You can try changing the image format to a more compressed format like PNG or JPEG to reduce the file size. You can also try reducing the image resolution to a lower value to further reduce the file size.

    And you can also use the "Developer Tools"(click F12 in your browser) to trace the times to load your report.


    However, it's important to note that the image format is just one of the factors that can affect the performance of your Power BI report. There could be other factors like the number of visuals, the complexity of the DAX formulas, the size of the data model, and the performance of the data source that can also impact the report performance.


    To troubleshoot the performance issues in your Power BI report, you can use the Performance Analyzer tool in Power BI Desktop. This tool can help you identify the visuals and DAX formulas that are taking the longest time to process and optimize them accordingly. You can also check the data source performance and optimize it if necessary.
