I had simple app that connected to an excel file from a OneDrive location and it refreshed on the Power BI service fine. Then I add another another table via a SQL server connection. After I did this the refresh failed. Can I not have two separate connections in the Cloud refresh? Should I be able to do this?

@Anonymous you can surely do that. Is your sql server on-prem or in cloud? If it is on-prem, you need powerbi data gateway to get this going? Let me know if need more help.

Hi @Anonymous,
Did you connect to the On-prem Sql server database? Then as @parry2k said you should install and configure on-prem gateway to refresh the dataset. For more details, please check the online document.
