Analyze in Excel question

Hello

I have a PBI report published to a UAT workspace. I created a refreshable excel report from this PBI report.

So there is a connection to this specific PBI model.

Question: If I now publish this very same report to a Production workspace, would the data connection change?
And, if the data connection changes, can I simply modify the data connection in "Properties" of the excel report to now update to the Production workspace?
Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous

In order to help you better, I have two points to confirm with you.

“a refreshable excel report“, Does this refer to exporting the report to Analyze in excel?

”If I now publish this very same report to a Production workspace“, refers to whether it is the PBI report or the refreshable excel report?

Hi Yulia, answers:

1) Yes

2) No - the PBIX is first published to Workspace #, then the Analyze in Excel report is created from there, the excel report contains pivot tables and filters. Then, the PBIX is published to Workspace #2. Instead of re-creating the excel report which already has several pivot tables and filterings, can I simply modify the data connection (which is the PBI model of the report published in Workspace #1) so that it is the PBI model of the same PBIX report now published in Workspace #2. I hope this explanation is clearer.

Thank you.
