I've noticed for the last few months at least that when I run reports in Analyse in Excel, the data source order isnt reflected. It sorts correctly in Power BI itself. Other users have also noticed the same issue when running these reports in excel. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
I've checked the pivottable and it says its sorting in data source format, and the column is sorted at source (as i mentioned - it works fine in Power BI)
I cant even understand what order analyse in excel is sorting it in, its not by value, and not alphabetically either - it seems completely random:
I do experience the exact same issue on a simple CALENDAR table and a column that rely on a numeric column for sorting in PBI. In PBI everything is working fine in EXCEL I have the below occurences:
Default Datasource Sorting (Correctly sorted using the "sort" column set in PBI) | Ascending (Alphabetical instead of using "sort" column set in PBI) | Descending (Reverse alphabetical instead of using "sort" column set in PBI) |

No sorry that doesnt help. The data in analyse in excel always used to be sorted based on the sort order selected in Power BI - it doesnt seem to be doing that anymore
I think microsoft still didn't fix that issue. Or am i wrong. Is there any way around
