Alternate to unpivot

Hi,

I am trying to generate a scatter plot for the following scenario.

I have mulitple columns (categories) all rated out of 6 and I am trying to create a scatter plot with the categories along the x-axis and the average of the columns on the Y axis I also want to stratify the data by another variable (pre/post)

I have been able to generate this by unpivoting the columns and using the attribute and values to build the visual. But unfortunately when i go to refresh it now takes forever to refresh due to the shear number of columns generated by the unpivot. (see image below for what I want to build)

Are the any other simple solutions on how to do this without unpivoting the data?

Hi @nickpuli ,

If possible, pre-transform your data before importing it into Power BI Desktop.
This will reduce the amount of data that needs to be processed by the Power BI Desktop.
