Good afternoon,
I have a table that shows a bunch of rows of data from a QA software, and the way I have the data displayed it may show multiple rows for the same item if it has a few different issues. See the example below from excel (confidential data in PBI), but esentially if there are multiple errors on one item, it will list multiple rows.
I would like to be able to alternate the background color each time it goes to a new item, so in my examples all of the "100 - 194.001" values should be highlighted the same color, then when it goes to "100 - 195.001" it should go to a new color, then back once it get to the next item, etc - in a sense I am trying to group the lines based on the item by highlighting the rows.
Currently, it just highlights the alternating rows and doesn't do any sort of grouping.
Is what I am trying to do possible? I know it can likely be done better in a matrix, but the end user really strongly prefers to have it in a table instead of a matrix. I don't know if I am properly explaining myself or the question, so if there is any additional information needed, please let me know and I will do my best to fill in blanks.

Thank you,
Shane
