All the tickets created in a month which are closed and still open

Hi,

Could anyone please help with creating a report based on the  fields: Created Date,Resolved Date,Incident reference ID and Event status.

Created date is linked to date table(Active) and Resolved date(inactive).

The report is expected to display a column chart that shows total created and total closed.

Total created has to show only the tickets created with in the selected date range (date slicer).

Specifically not to include tickets from previous month.Not sure how to show total created excluding old dates(some closed tickets carry forwarded from previous months) .
