All data sources disappeared
Please Help!! I opened my PBIX file today and all data sources disappeared!
I checked the source files are all where they are suposed to be... I checked other PBIX files that connect to the same files and they are working fine.
I have no clue what to do. These were months of work!!!

- Restore from OneDrive/SharePoint/Version Control
If you were storing the PBIX file in OneDrive, SharePoint, or any location with version control, try restoring a previous version of the PBIX file from before the issue occurred.
This is often available by right-clicking the file and choosing Version History if you're using SharePoint or OneDrive.
- Backup of PBIX (Autosaved files)
Check for autosaved backup copies of the PBIX file. These files are usually saved in the Power BI Desktop's working directory (typically located in the Documents\Power BI Desktop\AutoRecovery folder).
You may be able to find a recent version before the issue occurred.
- Repair the PBIX File
Sometimes, the PBIX file may be corrupt. You can try opening it with Power BI Desktop (without preview):
Open Power BI Desktop.
Disable preview features under File → Options → Preview Features and then reopen the PBIX file.
- Recreate Data Sources
If the worst happens and the connections cannot be restored, you might need to recreate the data sources:
Go back to your data source locations (files, databases, etc.).
Reconnect the PBIX to those data sources by re-establishing the connections under Transform Data → Data Source Settings.
- Recover from Power BI Service (if published)
If you had previously published the report to Power BI Service, you can:
Export the report back as a .pbix file (though note this feature has limitations and might not export all content depending on settings and configurations).
