Hello all,
I am having problems with my BI report I have which is linked to my sharepoint list. For example, I am trying to make a pie chart showing the cost per category, however, for some reason when I imported the data, it completely misses out the laptop category. Also; many rows of data are not included thus my number are innaccurate. Is there any way to fix this? I have tried reimporting, removing errrors numerous rtimes.
Hi @matildab
Based on your descripton and the picture you have offered, youe category column type should be choice, did you use the multiple choice for this column?
After testing, if you select multiple value in it, when importing it to Power BI Desktop, it will retuen a list.
You need to expand the list first in power query. select expanded to new rows.
Then it can work.
And for the connector , it is better that use the sharepoint online list connector.
Best Regards!

Hello Yolo Zhu,
Thanks for your reply, however I didnt mention that this happened after i did the expand to new rows. Even after doing what you suggested, the "laptop" category and a few others are for some reason absent
Hi @matildab
Thanks for your quick reply, please try to clear the permission in data source settings, then reconnect the sharepoint list.
Then after reconnecting the data source, click refresh all button in power query.
Best Regards!
