Dear experts,
I use a text field in PowerBi desktop, defined in M, with the content of "2021-12", "2022-01" or "2022-02", you guess those are YearMonth combinations as text. Right side blue box.
After publishing in our Workspace the content is turned around "01-2022" or "02-2022".
Left side red box.
Accordingly all preset filters are not working and the report shows empty visuals.
Sorting is not not working either, as now the month are leading.
Does anyone have a clue how to prevent this turning of contents in text fields ?
Autodetection of types, or the time intelligence are switched off in the desktop report.
Additional info:
Version: 2.105.1143.0 64-bit (May 2022)
Best regards and help is highly appreciated.
Axel
Solved! Go to Solution.
My investigations did not lead to a real solution.
It seems the issue is originated in the field content which is, in my case, sourced out of our SAP BW.
My workaround:
After I parsed it into a date and than return it to text the new text field is working flawless.
So my only guess the issue came in my case from the Business warehouse content.
Thanks for your support

Hi @axelb ,
Change the data type from text to date and check if the language settings in power bi service are same as the ones in the power bi desktop.
If this helps you then please hit the thumbs up and mark it as a solution. Thanks.
Hi truptis,
thanks for your support, but the field should be further a text field, not a date field.
therefore the switch to date is not possible.

@axelb , First try these.
Clear Browser Cache -> refresh and check
or
republish -> Clear Browser Cache -> refresh and check
Cleared all browser data in chrome, republished, cleared again and checked.
Still the same format 😞
By the way same effect in edge.
