Advice needed: best way to model data where each column needs a lookup?

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the community, and have been working with various PBI projects at my work for the last six months or so, learning as I go as well as studying for the certification.

I've gotten a new dataset today which I need to use to create a report.

The dataset is one table with 35 columns, consisting of data related to a questionaire that my company has sent out. With the data I also got a json file which explains all the number codes in the different columns. Basically, each column needs a lookup table in order to be understandable.

What is the best way of dealing with a dataset like this? Will I need to create a loopkuyp table for each column, or can I have one lookup table only? Or is there a better way of doing this altogether?

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

The standard approach is to unpivot this kind of source data into key/value pairs. That removes the need for lookups.
