Advance option is not there for the column while using Dynamic M query Parameter

I am using a blank query to get data from an API endpoint. I am using a parameter in the query and it is working fine. Now I want to make it dynamic so that it can be changed with a slicer. The slicer is getting values from a column which I created in a separate table. Now I am trying to connect this column to the parameter but I am not finding any advance option to do that.

The parameter type and the column type are text.

I am following this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-dynamic-m-query-parameters

Dynamic MQuery Parameters only work with Direct Query data sources.  Your API data source is Import Mode and that won't work.

Yes, I know that. Is there any other way I can use slicer selection in direct query? We can use table data in the power query that's why I was wondering if there are any workaround for this
