Adding new SharePoint Site App data to an existing Power BI Report

Newbie to this community so please bear with me.

I am focused upon Project Online and have some experience with OData reports in Excel, however Power BI takes things to a whole new level.

I have obtained a powerful Power BI report and can understand some of the underlying design/queries etc, it pulls data from Projects and also from their associated SharePoint sites, by default Project Online Project Sites include lists for Issues and Risks - my question is how can I add a new SharePoint Project Site List to the existing Power BI report.

I have created and added an Announcement App to sites that will allow a user to post a status commentary along with a RAG (Red Amber Green) indicator. I would like the Power BI Report to be able to include this information in the same report that shows relevant data for a selected project. I can see how the existing Risk and Issues lists are queried using the Advanced Editor in Power BI but am stuck as to how to add my new Site App data to the existing Queries - any advice or pointers to suitable web based tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @ThatProjectGuy,

Do you want to import data from SharePoint list to your current Power BI Desktop file? If that is the case, you can click “Get Data->More” in your current Power BI Desktop file, then use the following entry to connect to SharePoint Online list or on-premises SharePoint list.

However, if you require to display SharePoint list data in existing reports, please help to post sample data of your queries and expected reult here.

Thanks,
