Adding drill through to card visualizations

Hi,

I'm trying to create a drill through for my card visualization, but I don't receive a drill through link when I right click it. I created a details page, turned on "keep all filters" and then added all the fields I'm filtering to the field box below this switch.

I went back to my summary page. The summary page contains a couple of card visuals, as well as a bar graph and a table. If I right click the bar graph and table, there's a drill through option that allows me to select the details page. But not for the card visuals.

I was wondering if anyone has encountered this issue and if there's a fix for this.

Jason

  • A standard Card just shows an aggregated value with no category in the visual, so right click has nothing to pass to the drill-through page. Your bar chart and table work because the drill-through field is on the axis or as a column of those visuals.

The simplest fix is to add the drill-through field to the card under "Filters on this visual" and select a single value. Once the card carries that filter, the right click menu will show your Drill through option.

If you want it to behave more like the bar chart, you can also swap the Card for a Multi-row card and put the dimension field in the Fields well.

If it solved your issue, please mark it as the accepted solution and give it a kudos.

  • Hi jasonyeung87

The measure must be added as a drillthrough field. Since measures do not have row context, they also need to be included in the visuals on the drillthrough page so they can participate in the filter context.
