Adding column to sharepoint list, does this have any affect on Power BI report?

If I add a column to a sharepoint list that is the dataset for a powerbi dashboard, would this affect the powerbi refresh if it has no bearing on the visualizations?  I would assume not but am a new to the space...

Not usually, but you may do research into The Advanced Editor.
