Hi
I'm missing something obvious here but I'm trying to add a tooltip like I've done historically. I have a matrix of data which is summarised (e.g. website visits by device) and I'm trying to show a line chart as a tooltip when they hover over particular rows (visits over time, showing for the particular device they've hovered over).
I have added the line chart into a tooltip page. This tooltip page has "allow use as tooltip" toggled to "on". In canvas settings this is also selected to "tooltip" and I have added the line chart. This is all good.
However when I go to my tab with the matrix on and select the matrix, under the "tooltip" section there is only an option to "drag tooltip fields here" - there used to be an option where I could select a tooltip page and all the articles/Youtube videos I can find show this after following the above instructions.
I cannot find anything online to suggest this functionality has changed in the latest versions so how can I now select a page as a tooltip on a visual?

Hi @Troops ,
What is the version you have of Power BI desktop, asking this because for a long time for the visualizations including the matrinx the tooltips options for the matrix has a on/off button and then you can select the default / report page and there is also no an option to drag tooltip fields here, this option is only available on the other charts.
Apologize for the question also are you making the tooltip part on the matrix or on the line chart? It seems to me that you are doing it on the line chart because of the fact that you refer drag tooltips field here, that has I refered is not available on the matrix or table visual.

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsHi @Troops ,
yeah, that sounds frustrating — especially since it used to work just fine.
from what you described, it seems like you’ve done everything right:
but if you’re not seeing the tooltip page option under the matrix visual, a few things to check:
if all else fails, try creating a new tooltip page from scratch and re-adding the line chart — maybe something got corrupted in the original page.
let me know if any of that helps — happy to test it with you.

Thanks for this. I've checked all of these
1. Yes, tooltip in same file as the matrix
2. Yeah this is set correctly
3. I tried changing the matrix to other visual types (and tried adding to different visuals in different pages) but I get the same issue.
4. Tried restarting but no luck
Sadly Can't test as it's a work file but feels like there's something obvious I'm missing here
