Adding Index column causes out of memory issue

I've added an index column to my data (using edit query >> transform >> add column). It is giving me issues when applying changes (or refreshing new data). It gives some sort of memory leak causing the error 'there's insufficient memory to perform this task' to occur.

removing the index (which I unfortunately need...) removes the problem.

any suggestions here? hopefully someone can help!

Found out it probably isn't the index, but calculated columns using that index which caused heavy calculations. tried to simplify those calculations to see if the issue stays away.
