I don't know about in the Desktop client, but if you publish to the online service you can click choose URL from the options of a visual, see below. Hopefully that helps?

There is a way to incorporate a hyperlink to an image but only works on the online service. This works using the html viewer custom visual which can be downloaded from the Power BI custom visuals site. What I had done was created a column that included the image url (which you need to double check this works in a power BI report), the link, and the html code. You have to insert the html code:

<a href="link you are pointing to"> <img src="image url> </a>

However do note that this only works once the report is published to the online service and you have to hit 'ctrl'+ left-click and it will take you to the deired tab. If you just click on the image, the visual will break and you will have to refresh the page.

@Pratima, did you figure out how to add hyperlink to images?

Hi Sagarmehta,

There are 2 ways to create image hyperlink:

1) In Power BI Service  :we need to add the tile image with hyperlink.

2) In Power BI Desktop : we need to enable this option (Please find the screenshot)

@Pratima, I am an amateur here.

1. I have an image of a mailbox in the report on the top right.

 2. Why do I need to create a table with Web URL? How do I even link that table/column to that image?

I'm here looking for a solution to this also.   What I need, and I think Sagar too, is a way to link from inserted images - not images from data feeds.   i.e. just a simple hard-coded URL.

Looks like there is no such functionality.

I know how to do it on a text box
