Add Map / Cartographic Scale to Maps

I have spent a couple of hours looking for a solution to disply a scale on a map with no success. I have tried the format opsion for the visual and there are various configuration options for the map style and options but I cant find anything which adds a scale to the map. Is this somethig that is posible and if so any tips on how I could do this would be helpful.

What you are describing should be the handling of map scales in a paged report, as you can see in the following document:

Thank you for the repsonse. I'm sure that is a solution. I had read that article previously but it only refers to report builder and I only have access to desktop so was wonder is it was possible to achive the same in desktop exported repots.

As of now, this is not possible in powerbi desktop. The best way to achieve this is through the map scale in the paginated report.
