Actionable Weburl in Bar chart

Hi All ,

I am exploring the possibility of adding url's(Actionable) to my clustered bar chart.(Snapshot below).

The dummy dataset is very simple , 3 columns and 3 rows in my base data and a few rows in my visits data.

Ideally I want to provide the user the ability to go to the weburl if they click on the label in my bar chart.

For example if they click on the Nature Label , They should go to the weburl for Nature .

It can be done easily using a Table , But I want to know if it can be handled in the clustered bar chart visual

  • Hello Vivek26

I would add a blank button right next to the bar chart so that user can click after they clicked the Values on Y-axis/the bar.

For the button use 'Web URL' for its Type and a Measure 'SelectedURL = SELECTEDVALUE('Table1'[WEBURL])' for the Web URL.

    thanks.

  • Hi Vivek26

Not currently possible with the native bar chart. If you're adventurous enough, you can use the HTML viz to generate a bar chart with a DAX generated HTML.

The lable in the image below is clickable.

    Please see the attached sample

      Hi Vivek26

Were you able to review the PBIX file that shared for adding actionable URLs to the clustered bar chart? Did it help meet your requirement, or do you still need further assistance on this?

Power BI’s native bar chart doesn’t support clickable URLs on labels. But here are quick workarounds:
    - Use tooltips to show URLs on hover (not clickable).
    - Overlay buttons with URL actions over the chart (manual layout).
    - Try custom visuals like Deneb for clickable elements.
    - Add a table beside the chart with clickable links and sync selection.
