Ability to adjust column width inside table in Power BI Designer

Hello Colleagues,

Wanted to get some guidance on these two capabilities. They don't seem to be working in either the Online tool or the Desktop.

  • Can’t sort in a descending order on matrix or table
  • Can’t set fixed column width on columns on matrix or table

Thoughts / Guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Tks & Rgds,

Alay

  • For the first one, just click on the column that you want to sort by. If it sorts it the wrong way, click it again.

In the Desktop, you can drag the column separator to the desired width. Unfortunately, this generally gets horked up (technical term) when you upload it to the Service.

I had the same question and was pleased to find this easy solution (to the second part). We'll see how horked up it gets when I publish. ;-)

The column separator is difficult to see (and easy to miss) under the default table style. Luckily, I was playing with the various styles and happened to have it set to Bold header. The separator lines are much easier to see in this style.
