2019 Actual & Budget And 2018 Actual

Hi

How should i set up my data so I can get a matrix table like the below ( also want to use a matrix because I want to be able to drill down the row down to GL and the columns down to month as well)

                         Actual                AOP         var to AOP        Actual         var to Actual

CostCentre1         2                       1                     1                   2                       0

My current data in excel looks like this , I'm encountring the following problems

- I'm not sure what DAX calc to use to calculate the variance

- I have a column for AOP and the year 2018 is blank so  when I choose year following by also get it as a column when I don't want it

- 2018 is appearing first but i want it to be 2019

Hi @Anonymous ,

You cannot change a matrix column sorting, you can only change at row level.

One option is to add a column to your data with the sorting order so for each 2019 line would be 1 and for each 2018 line would be 2 then adding choosing the sort by column you can sort the year column by the SORt column you created.
