My dataflow gen2 refresh has been going on for the last two hours. How can I cancel the refresh?
Regards
Has a solution been found for this issue? We have created a Dataflow Gen 2 process that features a number of queries. When attempting to publish a table, we've received an error that it has exceeded our workspace capacity. We are unable to cancel the refresh, nor delete the dataflow.
Hi @Thayerthompson ,
If the cancel option not appearing in the service, then seems like you need to go through this approach provided by Sandeep Pawar.

If this post helps, please accept this as a solution. Appreciate your kudos.
Thanks,

So how do we deal with a long running process ? I suspect its never going to stop as it took 12 min before and we are on 2 hours now. There is not much work to be done as its a fairly small file to be loaded . Feels like the wheels have come off
@jwelch @Anonymous
This is still an open issue. I thought there would be a solution.
Unfortunately, I have another flow running for 24 hours now and still cannot be stopped. 😞
I just got the information from a Microsoft Employee that they are working on a "Cancel Execution" feature for Dataflows. So I think it will be there in one of the next releases...
Wow, I have a Fabric Dataflow Gen2 that runs for 5 hours now. It does not produce anything meaningful...
Will it be running till the 'cancel' - option has been implemented?
Will we be charged for the computation time? What's the price?
Thanks for solving this.
I've had the same problem, but my gen 2 DF was in a pipeline.
I was able to cancel the pipeline which failed the DF.

I don't think currently there is a way to cancel. I'd create an idea in the Ideas area - definitely needed.

I have found a solution using the power bi api and power automate -
@prathyoo I don't believe that is actually cancelling the dataflow. Cancelling is not a supported operation for Gen2 Dataflows yet - it's still in the works.
I'm pretty sure that is only changing metadata, and shouldn't be used like that as there will likely be unintended consequences.
This is your chance to engage directly with the engineering team behind Fabric and Power BI. Share your experiences and shape the future.
