Fabric Dataflow Gen 2: The destination table does not exist

I am trying to select a destination target for my dataflow gen 2. When I select a table in the default dbo schema the destination works as intended. When I try to select an existing table in a schema that I created for sales data I get an error "The destination table does not exist". I know the data types for this table are correct because I originally created it with the dataflow gen 2 in the default dbo schema, renamed it, and then moved it to the correct schema.

  • Hi Alex6161 ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

Based on your query, you have not explicitly mentioned it but it sounds like you are using Lakehouse with Schemas enabled as the destination for your dataflow Gen 2.

But as the Lakehouse schemas are still in preview stage there are some limitations currently Lakehouse schemas are not supported by dataflow Gen 2

    Source for the above statement:
Lakehouse schemas (Preview) - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

This might be the root cause of the error you are experiencing.
