Warehouse default semantic model: Build permissions

Hi,

i want to assign build permissions (to a user without rights in the workspace) on the default semantic model, but can't do that because the "add user" button is not displayed.

Is this not possible? Or should i create a separat semantic model to share?

Thanks!

Just to confirm what you're doing.  On the Warehouse itself (not the semantic model), click the elipsis and select Manage Permissions.  Click Add User and ensure "build reports on the default dataset" is checked.  Then click Grant.

You should then see that user appear in the semantic model Manage Permissions screen.

Hi @cw88 you need to add the users (or groups) by going to the Manage Permissions in the Warehouse settings and ensure "Build reports on the default dataset" is selected.

Hi @AndyDDC ,

I have tried, but the user does not appear in the dataset permissions... 😞

Just to confirm what you're doing.  On the Warehouse itself (not the semantic model), click the elipsis and select Manage Permissions.  Click Add User and ensure "build reports on the default dataset" is checked.  Then click Grant.
