Query Timeout Option in Fabric UI
For what it's worth you can set these timeouts on Capacity level (for Direct Query scenarios). We do that extensively on our tenant to prevent runaway queries from locking up our capacities.

Hi BalajiL
This is a public cloud real time data. You don't need to worry about timeout in SSMS. It is alway online and available data in Internet ( Public Cloud ).
End users can connect to SSMS at any time ( Software as a Service ) whether its Fabric Datawarehouse or Fabric SQL

Hi BalajiL ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community.
As of now, the Fabric Warehouse UI does not have a query timeout setting directly through the interface. Queries will continue running until they complete or fail due to internal limits, such as resource constraints or service timeouts. Unlike tools like SSMS, there’s currently no option in the UI to set a custom timeout duration.
As you mentioned, using SSMS is currently the practical way to control query timeout by setting it in the connection properties.
Also, as pointed out by lbendlin, timeout behavior for DirectQuery scenarios can be managed at the capacity level.
Hope this helps. Please reach out for further assistance.
Thank you.
