How do I view the execution plan for a query?

I have performance problems with queries on Fabric Warehouse and Lakehouse which I don't experience on synapse serveless sql pools.

I would like to analyze query execution plans on sql server management studio I get this error:
Microsoft SqlClient Data Provider Framework: Message 15869, Level 16, State 3, Line 1
SHOWPLAN_XML is not supported for SET.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you

Hi @marcoG ,

At this time, SHOWPLAN_XML/EXPLAIN statements are not supported by Microsoft Fabric DW.
Currently, there are plans to expose the query plan in query insights view.

Appreciate if you could share the feedback on our feedback channel. Which would be open for the user community to upvote & comment on. This allows our product teams to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and gives insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further queries.
