Hi all,
we used to have a pro workspace that served as a central data point for several warehouses.
All data was transformed and stored within a Dataflow Gen 1. It was kind of combination of different data from DB, CSV and excel files.
Our company is not making Fabric available therefore this workspace will be upgraded to fabric as well.
Seems like a lakehouse for storage is the best solution for us. I am getting familier with the different concepts how to get data into the lakehouse etc. But how much will it cost us to query data from the lakehouse to reports instead of dataflows? Are there any costs for query from a lakehouse?

Hello @joshua1990,
I have a question.
You write that your company does not provide Fabric, but in the next sentence you say that your workspace is being migrated to Fabric.
How does that fit together?
Without Fabric capacity, there is no lakehouse.
To answer your question, yes, every query on a lakehouse counts against capacity and spent CU.
To check how much CU you are using, you can use the Fabric Metrics app as an example.
Best regards

I think it's a typo, instead of "not" read "now".
Also keep in mind that with a Lakehouse you now have the Direct Lake connection option in addition to the regular import mode for dataflows, and the abomination that is Direct Query for Dataflows.
