Error 500 When Creating Lakehouse Shortcuts
I am unable to create a shortcut in a Lakehouse. After choosing the connection, or creating a new one, the following error occurs:
Unable to load
Error 500 - An error occurred while sending the request.
This is happening across multiple users and across different tenants, and from multiple geograhpical locations across the country. Is anyone else having this problem?
Turns out someone unlinked the dataverse environment from Fabric. Problem solved!

Hi jakes
Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Regarding the issue with creating a Lakehouse shortcut, we have tested the shortcut creation feature on our end and found it to be working correctly, which suggests the issue may be specific to your setup. The "Error 500 An error occurred while sending the request" usually points to a server-side problem, but in this situation, it may be due to factors like insufficient permissions, a misconfigured or corrupted connection, network restrictions (such as firewalls or proxies), or browser issues. To troubleshoot, try clearing your browser cache or using an incognito window, verify your permissions in the workspace and to the data source, and test shortcut creation in a new workspace or Lakehouse to see if the issue is workspace-specific. You can also try a different browser or network.
I have attached a snapshot for reference:
