The default dataset for my Lakehouse is not refreshing when the Lakehouse is being updated for one table.
This has happened a couple of times now and seems to be related to schema changes being made previously. In this current case, the default dataset will not refresh unless the table is deleted and reloaded, any subsequent loads into the Lakehouse are shown there and in the SQL endpoint view but don't make it to the default dataset. No schema changes have been made in this example since the last time the table was deleted and rebuilt, but I think the default dataset is corrupt in some way and won't refresh. I can add measures from the SQL endpoint view and they show up in the default dataset but the table data is stale.

Hi, can you check the dataset settings for the DirectLake refresh? There's a great blog here about refreshes https://blog.crossjoin.co.uk/2023/10/08/what-does-it-mean-to-refresh-a-direct-lake-power-bi-dataset-...
Glad that your query got resolved. Please continue using Fabric Community for any help regarding your queries.
You're awesome Andy. Thank you. The Direct Lake refresh was not on.
