Hi Community,

 

I’m currently working on replicating a MySQL database (hosted in a Google cloud) into Microsoft Fabric (OneLake) and I came across the Open Mirroring feature.

 

From what I understand, Fabric Mirroring currently doesn't natively support MySQL as a source. However, Open Mirroring seems like a potential alternative for streaming changes from MySQL into Fabric by writing change data in Delta Lake format directly into the landing zone.

I have a few questions:

  1. Is MySQL officially supported for Open Mirroring, either directly or via any third-party partners/tools (like Debezium, Striim, GoldenGate)?

  2. Has anyone in the community successfully implemented MySQL CDC to Fabric using Open Mirroring?

  3. What are the best practices or recommendations for:

    • Generating Parquet files with __rowMarker__ values for insert/update/delete?

    • Automating metadata (_metadata.json) and file ingestion into the Fabric landing zone?

    • Handling ingestion errors and retries?

Any guidance, sample architectures, or success stories would be greatly appreciated.
