🌍 Earthquakes Around the Globe In Last 30 Days
This interactive Power BI report provides a comprehensive view of all recorded earthquakes over the past 30 days, highlighting magnitude, depth, location, and more details. The design is structured into three distinct layers to guide the user from a high-level overview to a deeper exploration of seismic activity.
- Overview - The opening layer features a large interactive map that shows global earthquake activity. Users can filter by magnitude category to see correlations across regions, while four key KPIs at the top highlight total earthquakes, average depth, significant earthquakes, and micro to light events.
- Visualizations - The second page dives deeper into the data with multiple visuals. These show earthquake counts by day, counts by magnitude categories, and earthquake distribution by depth. Dynamic filters allow users to view activity over the last 3, 7, 14, or 21 days, enabling flexible exploration of recent seismic trends.
- History - The third page shifts focus to historical perspective, showcasing the largest 1,000 earthquakes since 1900 by magnitude. This page includes a smaller clustered bubble map for quick interaction and a detailed table listing individual earthquakes for further inspection.
The purpose of this report is to provide a data driven dashboard for earthquake activity, which updates daily each morning, and to demonstrate my expertise in Power BI design, dynamic visualizations, and map-based storytelling. By combining high-level design with interactive analytics, this project reflects both my technical learning journey and my passion for making complex data both accessible and engaging.
