Hi there
I've tried it, but if there are a lot of categories, the visual hangs, even if you apply the filter (hide value less than %)
Hello!
Thank you for your feedback. When you mention that "the visual hangs," could you please provide more details? For instance:
To troubleshoot, you can download the sample report from the App Source. Once you have the report:

Hi there
in essence it happens when there is the warning message:
Too Many values
We are not able to display all data because there are too many values for the following fileds: A,B. Filter the data or choose another filed
in such cases pressing a slice of the pie the visual hangs
Cheers

Hi again,
Are you using more than one metric in the categories field, or is the issue that your metric has too many values (e.g., more than 1,000 rows)?
If you prefer, you can send us an email at enquiries@thedatascientists.com or visit our contact page with images or screenshots that showcase your problem.
Understanding this will help us better diagnose and resolve the issue.
Hi there.
I have a dashboard with a normal pie chart with a drill down option that works fine. Several filters are affecting the visual (pie)
I've just updated the visual with your own, which generally works fine, while for this combination of data where the normal pie works, it gives me the error I described above. I have 31 categories (10 of which are not shown) and a ton of subcategories, so I think the combinations of both elements that are in the 25k records dataset is too much for the visual to handle. In my visual, the categories field holds the name of the car manufacturer, while the subcategories field holds the models available for each car manufacturer. The values are the cars sold.
By the way, I've seen the STROKE colour (the pie colour divider) at the end of the pie colour list. Is this correct? I think it should be a separate option like the margin.
Cheers
F
Hello,
Thank you for the detailed explanation.
It appears that the issue arises from the large number of categories and subcategories in your dataset, which exceeds the visual's current handling capacity. Power BI does use a default limit of 1000 rows, and this seems to be causing the problem.
We will work on publishing a new version of the visual that increases the maximum number of rows to better accommodate large datasets like yours.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate it and will use it to improve our product.
Cheers,
