How many people use the Internet in the world? Are there dependencies of their distribution?
The spread of the Internet around the world. Digital reality is rapidly changing the world. Today, almost 8 billion people live on our planet and more than half of them use the Internet.
Internet in developed and developing countries. Despite the rapid growth of Internet users around the world, due to the large number of people in developing countries, the global average is significantly inferior to that of developed countries.
Distribution of the Internet by region. By the 20th years of the XXI century, Europe remains the leader in the number of Internet users in relation to the number of inhabitants, the countries of North and South America are in second place, and the CIS countries and Arab countries are in third and fourth place, respectively.
Despite the huge number of Internet users in Asian countries, more than half of the population does not have access to the World Wide Web.
Over the previous 17 years, the degree of penetration of Internet access grew fastest in the CIS countries: in 2005, only 10% of the region's residents used this service, and in 2019, the indicator increased to 72.2%. It approached the indicators of developed European countries, where 82.5% of the population had access to the network by the end of 2019.
Internet distribution by country. The absolute leaders in the number of Internet users are China and India. With the exception of Mexico and Nigeria, the rest of the countries in the chart are in the top 10 countries in terms of GDP.
In the course of the work, the dependence of the spread of the Internet on the level of development of the country, as well as the population, was discovered.
