In this report, I analyze games played in the multiplayer computer game Heroes of the Storm, to figure out how to become better at the game. The purpose of this entry is to showcase, that PowerBI is fun to work with, and it is not only for solving business problems.
I my report, I dig into various aspects of the game. I'm using my custom visual heatmap to plot death locations to determine dangerous areas, I also utilize many standard visuals to drill into data and gain additional insights.
Everything is authored with PowerBI Desktop but presented nicely in the PowerBI portal as a slideslow.
The data for the report, is exported to json from the binary replay data files from the game with a custom C# program. The JSON files are imported into PowerBI Desktop and used to build the data model.
