Green Defense - Power BI Visualization by Third I
Third I developed a Power BI report to measure carbon footprint and overall energy expenses incurred by consumers. The report was built using powerful visualizations in Power BI by converting the data sourced from various energy consuming appliances into a single set of analytics for real-time actionable insights along with energy consumption forecasts & recommendations.
For consumers, the goal is to drive awareness and conservation of natural resources through compelling analytics, insightful visualizations, and targeted actionable conservation recommendations.
The Green Defense Report by Third I enables end consumers to gain better insight into their energy consumption patterns and provide economic benefits along with a positive impact on the environment.
It offers powerful analytics on daily energy consumption, predicted consumption for the day and calculates monthly bill based on the daily consumption pattern of energy resources like electricity, gas, and water. The report also enables the users to measure their daily carbon footprint and shares necessary recommendations to reduce them, thereby enabling users to monitor their energy consumption from a single dashboard and take immediate actions based on the recommendations.
Questions it helps answer:
- What is the difference in energy consumption from the previous day?
- What are the projected monthly costs for resources like electricity, gas, and water?
- How does their consumption of different energy resources affect the environment?

Yes, this can be achieved by following below steps -
1. Create the measure which contains threshold based values on the basis of required value.
2. Create a relationship between required tables with cross filter enabled on both sides.
3. Now create a visual holding column of the required related tables created in Step 2.
4. Use the measure created in Step 1 in the visual level filter of created visual in Step 3 and apply the required filtering. 5. Refresh the data and test the changes.

This looks great, can some of the text (water, weather) and images (weather clouds, KPI arrows) be made dynamic to the values?
