This Power BI report is inspired by Leonardo Karpinski. It shows how major indicators like Operational Revenue, Gross Margin, and Gross Marin percentage among others are analyzed.
This data was extracted and transformed in the Power Query Editor where the M code was used to create custom columns. A lot of transformations were carried out in the Power Query Editor. Measures, calculated columns, and tables were created using the DAX language in the Power BI desktop tool.
The first page (Revenue & Margin) consists of a matrix table showing how some of the calculated measures are analyzed by Suppliers and Groups from the data. From the stacked bar chart, we could see that category (Retail) has the highest revenue. The measures also show that November recorded the highest operational revenue and gross margin, while January recorded the highest gross margin %.
The income statement page is basically showing how the operating income is increasing and decreasing for each month. It also shows the analysis of the header account, subheader account, and the detailed account by the horizontal analysis, vertical analysis, and profit and loss indicator for each month.
The financial simulator page gives room for users to simulate scenarios on the Power BI report. You can easily predict the Variance revenue, Variance costs, and Variance Expenses among several others by interacting with the report by using the What IF? section.
