This is a custom report designed by endjin showcasing an array of design concepts:
- Branding, colour, and logo placement in respect of clear areas.
- Layout and page composition for clean and clear page design.
- Interactivity for guided navigation throughout the report.
- Building a data story where we analyse the data points to extract meaningful content to help users easily discover insights using Open Source data provided by the World Bank Open Data project.
- Experimenting and developing an accessible colour palette to assist users with Colour Vision Deficiency (CVD) as well as exploring other methods to differentiate and visualise data, resulting in an engaging and inclusive experience.
The report data story compares the health of a nation (measured in Life Expectancy) against the wealth (measured in Gross Domestic Product Per Capita (GDP)). Ultimately, we want to determine whether a country's GDP influences the average Life Expectancy of its population and understand the primary factors at play influencing the relationship.
