Limited connection support for script activity

Hi,

Is it possible the use script activity over non MS connections (eg on prem MySQL/ODBC/MariaDB)?

I have usecase where result of our Fabric DWH should be exported to one of abovemnetioned desitonations on prem. Before I do insert i should delete data from target, however i dont see there is a posiblity for scirpt componened to delete the data.

Any advise how could i delete data from MySQL/ODBC/MariaDB target before insert?

Hi,

@Anonymous

I solved it by using pre copy script in copy activity, it works well in this case.

But again it is odd that precopy is only way to execute script on target non Microsoft server.

Hi @morz3d
Currently pre copy script is the only work around. However, your suggestion is definitely valuable! We use customer feedback like yours to prioritize future features. The more users who request the ability to customize backgrounds, the higher it moves on our list.

Appreciate if you could share the feedback on our Microsoft Fabric Ideas. Which would be open for the user community to upvote & comment on. This allows our product teams to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and gives insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.

I hope this information helps. If you have any further queries please do let us know.

Thanks
