Invoke Pipeline

Hello Everyone,

When i try to use invoke pipeline, I see this property "Connection", I agree this property is required when we connect to ADF or Synapse pipeline as we need to setup the connection first. But for invoking Fabric Pipeline which are in same workspace, why should i create connections? I feel like this is extra parameter for Fabric Connections , is there any specific reason for having connections property for Invoking Fabric Pipeline?

Hi @Srisakthi

There is no word yet that invoke pipeline (legacy) will be deprecated.

You can follow the official release of information in this regard.

And, there are known limitations in the official documentation. The official recommendation is to use Invoke Pipeline (legacy) to get the pipeline return value of a fabric pipeline.

Hello @FabianSchut  @v-nuoc-msft ,

Thanks for your reply. I have few more queries

1. Usually Legacy feature will be deprecated right ? Is it good to use Legacy one?

2. If Invoke pipeline(preview) is meant for ADF and Synapse then why they have given the option for Fabric as well?

Srisakthi

Hi @Srisakthi

Thank you very much FabianSchut for your prompt reply.

As FabianSchut said, please use the Invoke Pipeline (Legacy).

Currently, there are two types of "invoke pipeline" within Fabric Data Pipeline. The first one you are using "Invoke Pipeline (Preview)" is meant to invoke Azure Data Factory and Synapse pipelines. If you want to invoke a Fabric data pipeline, you should use "Invoke Pipeline (Legacy)". With the Legacy version, you do not need to set up any connection.
