Integration Runtime Not Showing in Microsoft Fabric After Setting Up Azure Data Factory

I have installed the Self-hosted Integration Runtime (SHIR) on my SQL Server and set up an Azure Data Factory with the SHIR and a Linked Service. Everything appears to be running properly. However, when I go to Fabric > Settings > Manage Connections and Gateways, I don’t see my Integration Runtime listed when I try to create a connection.

Fabric is running on an F2 capacity, and it is configured on the same subscription as my Data Factory.

Questions:

1. Is my approach correct? If so, what could be causing the issue where I am unable to connect to the Integration Runtime in Fabric?
2. Does the Fabric capacity need to be on the same subscription as my Data Factory, or is that unnecessary?

Your approach seems mostly correct, but there are a few nuances to consider:

Integration Runtime Visibility in Fabric:

Currently, the Self-hosted Integration Runtime (SHIR) is primarily designed to work with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse. It appears that SHIR might not be directly visible or usable within Microsoft Fabric's "Manage Connections and Gateways" section. Instead, you might need to use an on-premises data gateway for Fabric.

Subscription Requirements:

The Fabric capacity and Data Factory do not necessarily need to be on the same subscription. However, ensuring they are within the same Microsoft Entra tenant can simplify management and integration.
