Connect to Oracle Database with LDAP connection

Hello,

I have a JDBC string:  jdbc:oracle:thin:@ldap://xxx.xxxx.com:3060/cn=xxx,cn=OracleContext,dc=xxx,dc=com where "xxx" are the relevant values, and the username/password. I can verify that I have access to the database.

I have followed the documentation and I am at "Set up your connection in a data pipeline" Step. I am trying to figure out how to create this connection in Fabric. I am not able to successfully establish it. Thanks for your help!

Hello @Anonymous , Thank you for your response. I have installed a on-premise gateway in my local machine. The Oracle database is accessible from my local machine but I have tried that using the jdbc string using python.

For Fabric, I have installed the Oracle Client for Microsoft tools and have configured the ldap.ora and sqlnet.ora file. I am unsure about the next steps now.

I am also curious about your point number 2. Where do I upload the driver in Fabric and how do I leverage it? Thank you!

Below are my thoughts about your questions:

1. Ensure that the Oracle database is accessible from the network where Fabric is running. If there are firewalls or network restrictions, you may need to whitelist the IP addresses or use a VPN.

2. If the Oracle JDBC driver is not included by default in Fabric, you may need to upload the driver manually. Download the Oracle JDBC driver (e.g., ojdbc8.jar) and upload it to Fabric.

3. Since your JDBC URL uses LDAP, ensure that the LDAP server is correctly configured and accessible.
