Hi Team
I want to know if Copilot in the Fabric Capacity Metrics app ( which acts same as a workspace for observing the CU usage and other utilisation) can be leveraged and used. And if yes how can we enable that. Whom should we request to enable it.
Please let me know about this.
Thanks!!
@avisri Hey,
The Copilot feature within the Fabric Capacity Metrics app can provide additional insights and automation for observing capacity usage and utilization. However, enabling and using Copilot typically requires specific actions and permissions within your organization.
1) Ensure your organization has the appropriate licensing for both Fabric and Copilot features. This might include verifying the specific Fabric edition and any add-ons related to Copilot.
2) Confirm that you have administrative access to the Fabric Capacity Metrics app or know the admin to contact.
3) Reach out to your Fabric administrator to verify if Copilot is available and can be activated within your metrics app.
4) I will ask my Power BI administrator, check the admin console or settings in your Fabric environment for any option to enable Copilot.
5) If Copilot is mentioned in your Fabric environment documentation but not visible, consider contacting Microsoft Support for guidance or check with your IT team.

Kindly accept it as solution if it solved your problem. Kindly give kudos.
I would like to clarify whether Copilot can be enabled within the Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics App and the Chargeback App. I understand that both these apps function similarly to regular workspaces within Fabric.
I currently have access to both workspaces and can navigate through the reports and datasets. However, I do not see an option to enable or use Copilot features in either of them.
Thank you for the clarification. As lbendlin noted, Copilot can be used with semantic models from both the Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics App and the Chargeback App, provided these requirements are met.
Since you have access to both workspaces, please check with your tenant admin to ensure these conditions are met. Once they are, Copilot features should automatically be available when you use the datasets in those apps.
regards,
Yugandhar.
I wanted to check if you’ve had a chance to confirm with your tenant admin whether Copilot is enabled for the capacity hosting those workspaces, and whether you're part of the Allow Copilot usage group.
Thank You.
CoPilot can be used against any semantic model, including the Capacity Metric App and Chargeback models. Make sure you have a Fabric capacity that is enabled for CoPilot, and that you have access to at least one workspace on that capacity (so the CUs for your CoPilot activities can be charged).
Hi @avisri ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community. In addition to @lbendlin response, I’ve attached the official Microsoft documentation which provides further clarity and step by step guidance on enabling Copilot in Fabric. I recommend reviewing it, as it should be helpful in addressing your query.
Appreciate your prompt engagement in the community @lbendlin .

- Ask your tenant admin to add you to the "Allow CoPilot usage" group
- ask them to designate at least one of your capacities as CoPilot enabled
- ask them to add you to at least one workspace on that capacity,
