Unable to delete Shared Query in Fabric SQL Database

As title says, I am unable to delete a particular Shared Query in Fabric SQL Database. For reference I am the query owner.

Below is the error message

I followed the steps you provided t check the current owner for the shared query and these options don't exist - there is no Manage permissions under the Shared Query area.

Can you check the ellipsis (...) next to the parent i.e. the Warehouse and see who's the Owner? 

Could you also try moving the shared query by clicking "Move to My Queries" and then try deleting it?

The error code SqlDbNative.QueryPersistence.MyQueryUpdateForbiddenNonOwner indicates that, even though you were the original creator, the query has been shared, and now Fabric does not consider you the current owner. Sharing locks the ownership context, and any modification (including deletion) requires the current “query owner” permission.

Since you no longer have "query owner" rights, you have two pragmatic options:

1. Duplicate the Query & Delete Unshared Copy

   • Create a new version of the query under your ownership.
   • Leave the shared version untouched, then delete your new unshared one when no longer needed.

2. Change Ownership or Permissions

   • Ask a workspace Admin (or current owner) to either:
     • Revoke the share and reassign ownership back to you, or
     • Delete the shared query entirely.

You can also check who is the current owner for the shared query.

• Navigate to your workspace.
• Locate the shared query (often under Shared Queries).
• Click the ellipsis (…) next to the query and choose Manage permissions (or Manage access).
• In the list of users/groups and their permissions, the entry marked as Owner identifies the current owner.
