To work with Dataflow Gen2 (CI/CD, preview), this workspace needs to use a Fabric enhanced capacity

Hello. I'm trying to use a Dataflow Gen2 (CI/CD, preview) item inside a workspace backed by an F64 capacity and keep getting the "Upgrade to a paid Microsoft Fabric capacity" message. The tenant and the Fabric capacity are both in West US 2 and the workspace has a Fabric capacity license. Additionally I found an article that mentions the Dataflow Gen2 - not the one in preview - should have a checkbox to enable Git integration, and that isn't the case for me. What am I missing?

Upgrade to a paid Microsoft Fabric capacity

To work with Dataflow Gen2 (CI/CD, preview), this workspace needs to use a Fabric enhanced capacity. You can purchase a Fabric capacity on the Azure portal using your Azure subscription. Learn more.

Hi @EricDupuis

Sorry for not making it clear. New features will usually take several days or weeks to be deployed to all available regions. I'm not sure which version will include this preview feature, so I can't provide a definite date range.

At the moment I'm using Service version 13.0.24766.30 with data region UK South, and I have't received this preview feature either.

In addition, for the Dataflow Gen2 (CI/CD, preview) tile, it has been acknowledged as a Known issue. Please ignore it. Engineers are working to remove the tile.

Hi @EricDupuis

It's possible that the preview feature hasn't been deployed to your region completely. In the official article you linked, it lists the following limitation at the bottom. Please wait for a while and still use Dataflow Gen2

  • When you create a new item in your workspace, it might show the item "Dataflow Gen2 (CI/CD, preview)". Ignore this one and follow instructions described in this article. It may take some time until your region shows the checkbox for enabling the CI/CD and Git support.

Jing

Thank you for the reply. Can you clarify what "some time" or "wait for a while" means? Are we talking 2 hours, 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years?

Thank you for finding that known issue article. I suppose that is the best possible "solution" for now.
