Sharing an open-source tool: local dev + testing for Fabric notebooks

I wanted to share pyfabric-dev, an Apache-2.0 framework we just open-sourced for working with Fabric notebooks outside the cloud runtime.


It addresses two limitations many of us run into: notebooks can't import external Python modules, and they're hard to test locally because the Fabric utilities aren't available off-cloud. pyfabric-dev lets you keep your code as plain Python modules, generates .Notebook artifacts for Fabric Git integration, and runs/tests everything locally with mocked mssparkutils/notebookutils on PySpark + Delta.

Thank you for sharing the open‑source framework pyfabric-dev, this looks like a valuable addition for tackling some of the common limitations with Fabric notebooks, especially around local development and testing. The ability to work with plain Python modules and simulate Fabric utilities locally is particularly useful.
