OPENROWSET compatibility with Onelake was just announced as having been released today on the Fabric blog, but I cannot figure out how to get it to work. I use this regularly with ADLS storage with no issues.
I've tried copying their examples verbatim, or tried every alternate combination I can come up with, such as workspace name vs workspace id, URL from properties of file, lakehouse ID, lakehouse name, etc
I get an error: "has URL suffix which is not allowed" like it is still blocked by Microsoft. Does anyone know if this requires activating it in tenant settings to work?
The documenation says the following should work:
SELECT *
FROM OPENROWSET(
'https://onelake.dfs.fabric.microsoft.com/<workspaceId>/<lakehouseId>/Files/filename.csv'
);It was just announced this morning, so they may have just announced it before actually releasing it. i'm not sure.

UPDATE: It is working now. It just took a few days after the announcement.

Looks it is is not yet released in all the regions. Raise a ticket with Microsoft.
most likely the release hasn't hit your cluster yet. Keep trying for the next couple days, and if it still doesn't work, raise a ticket.
