What is the ideal way to migrate data from Sybase to MS Fabric?

What are the different options and approaches?

Hi  @pallavi_r ,
Thank you for using Microsoft Fabric Community Forum!

There is a sybase connector in dataflow which you can use to get data from your database to Fabric.Refer the link:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connectors/sybase-database

If that does not match your requirement perfectly, Try using REST connector in Data pipleine to get data from your database into Fabric.
Source: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/connector-rest-overview

Please follow this document to know how to configure copy activity in fabric using REST:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/connector-rest-copy-activity

Please follow this document to know how to set up a connection to use REST connector in data pipeline:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/connector-rest#set-up-your-connection-in-a-dat...

Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Regards,
Pallavi.

Hi All,

Just taking this approach as per below references from Microsoft link.

Step 1 - Keep azure sql db as staging environment and use SSMA to do the schema and data migration.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssma/sybase/migrating-sybase-ase-databases-to-sql-server-azure...

Step 2 - Then migrate from Azure SQL DB to MS Fabric using copy job, mirroring, multiple options are there

Please share if you have any different suggestion to this.

Thanks,

Pallavi
